Why Join?

Tulsa’s richest tradition is arguably philanthropy. The community was founded by the generosity of individuals and families who believed in giving back to the greater good for the benefit of posterity as well as prosperity.

Although our history of giving dates back to the oil boom, these family names live on and in many ways, their names have achieved greater local awareness than the industry that gave them their wealth. Phillips, Skelly, Perryman and Gilcrease are perhaps the most notable of our founding fathers.

Today, Tulsa is home to numerous modern-day benefactors who join the ranks of these families. We also are host to countless citizens who give their time and their talent to help others in need. Collectively, our community is continuing this tradition of giving but we must always remain proactive in our efforts to cultivate the next generation of givers.
