American Red Cross, Tulsa Area Chapter helps families prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies, and provides community health education and training programs.

Disaster Action Team Member: A majority of the 60,000 emergencies that the Red Cross responds to each year are local, personal disasters like home fires. They may not make the news, but they are just as devastating to the families affected.

Trained and available, Disaster Action Team volunteers are ready to respond to these emergencies, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. From offering a shoulder to cry on, to meeting any immediate needs for shelter or supplies, to connecting people with long term recovery services, these volunteers ensure that families do not have to face tough times alone.

Blood Transportation Specialist: Blood Transportation Specialists deliver life-saving blood to hospitals in the area. Volunteers must have a current drivers license and three years of driving experience.

Blood Donor Ambassador: Provide excellent and enthusiastic customer service to enhance the blood donor experience. Engage with blood donors to promote blood donation and set the stage for a long-term commitment to regular blood donations. Express gratitude and ensure each blood donor is sincerely thanked for their donation.

Duty Officer: The Duty Officer is the first to receive notice of an emergency (mainly home fires). Once a call is received the DO confirms damage with fire department and makes contact with clients on needs. After the report is made the DO then dispatches a volunteer team to provide assistance.

This opportunity is offered in shifts each day and is done from your home. Training is provided. Only requirements are internet, computer, and phone.
